Club Fitting Customer Review
My name is Dusty and I live in Adelaide SA. I visit Tweed Heads approximately every two years to escape the Southern winter. Over the years I have had the good fortune to meet Peter Barton who has taken my golf performance from ordinary to very good, in a short period. My apologies for the size of this review, but it would not do it any justice by shortening it:
On a recent visit to Tweed Heads (June - August 2015) I was playing golf regularly at Tweed Heads/Coolangatta Golf Club. After a few ordinary game results, I went to see Pete and said that I think I need to replace my clubs.
To cut a long story short (for the moment), after 2 - 3 weeks of intensive help from Pete, I have finished up with a set of clubs that are totally customised for me. Amongst other things, he identified that I have a very slow swing speed and nothing in my bag suited that. I had steel shafts, fairway woods and driver with shafts unsuited for my swing. I had purchased these clubs from a well known national golf shop, who convinced me that these were the best clubs for my swing, and then took my money. I rated their customer service at zero.
Pete is the only person in the golf business that I know of who individualises” his customers to ensure they get the right equipment for their particular golf prowess, despite what you think you know. He took my irons and replaced all the shafts to a Seniors/Ladies flex. Then he found hybrids that ensured I would get maximum lift, coupled with ease of use; shafts were changed to match the set. To achieve this, he frequently lent me clubs to go and try out. If they didn’t work out, he would try me with something different. He spent hours with me on his Golf Simulator to enable me to feel and see my own swing, see distance and accuracy, etc. He sized the shafts to ensure they had the right balance, length, and feel, etc.
Along the way I have received some very important tips in relation to stance and swing as well, which when packaged with the clubs, has made my golf so enjoyable with greatly improved confidence. In future Pete will be my only source of golf equipment, (even though I live in Adelaide). Pete has not only become a good friend, but he is indeed a true Golf Master Craftsman and a customer service perfectionist. Thanks Pete.
